As a lover of hand-crafted ales and a desire to create my own product, I decided it was time the Falkland Islands had its own brewery.
So in 2012 Falkland Beerworks was born.
My aim is to produce high quality, natural and consistently first-rate ales using quality ingredients and traditional methods. All with your and my enjoyment in mind.

Hi Martin, I really enjoyed your beer, loved the maltyness to it.
What did you think of the Rockhopper? Not sure how well it travels, as there could have been a bit of sediment as my bottling system is rather crude.
If I am ever back up in Newcastle I will pay you a visit.

As much as I would love to supply your social club, it would not be possible. I buy nearly all my ingrediants from the UK, and (grain and hops etc), the thought of sending it all the way back in the form of beer, would be good for my proffits but no so good for the environment.

We grabbed a couple cases of stubbys for the boat. However the brewery or Studio52 was not open that day to get a Pint glass or two or a Shirt Any chance of posting those I will pay for the merchandise and posting of course. thanks for thinking about it and I really am a fan of the Rock Hopper. Hi Lawrence, I am pleased that you enjoyed the beer, Rock Hopper does seem to be the most popular. We have problems in the Falklands with recieving payments from overseas, Paypal will no longer work and the bank in antiquated. I have recieved payment from the states by the use of telegraphic bank transfer before, but that was for quite a large beer order from a expedition cruise company. It worked but I have no idea what the cost was to them.

No I do not. I know of a brewery in Punta Arenas, and I am aware of a brewery in Ushuaia Argentina and Puerto Williams Chile. These 3 towns are just a bit further south than us. However I do consider my brewery as the remotest and with probably the longest supply line as nearly all of my grain and hops come from the UK and can take over 3 months to arrive from date of purchase.
I hope this answers your question.

At the moment Longdon Pride is on in the Vic, Globe and Malvina and will shortly be replaced with Rockhopper and then Black Tarn. You can get bottles of Rockhopper, Iron Lady and Longdon Pride at Bitter Sweet and The Waterfront Hotel.
I hope this helps, get it while it is there as it doesn’t last very long when the cruise ships are in.

At present i do not sell to the supermarkets. I only sell bottled beers in The Waterfront Hotel, Narrows Lounge and Narrows Bar. I sell cask condidtioned beer in The Victory Bar, Globe Tavern and Malvina House hotel. Not all beers are always available at any one time, but if you enjoy drinking something diffent that you can only get here then you can have fun trying all the different places that sell it. You may be lucky and get all six.

Hi Jeff, I served on the Hermes in ’82 (RN Marine Engineer) then had one of the best stints abroad when I got posted to Navy Point the following year (just across the water). We made ourselves a bar / disco / coffee lounge on a fuel barge at NP with an unbelievable amount of alcohol that kept getting sent over from the wonderful folk of Blighty. I also looked after two pigs, “Olympus & Tyne” over there. As there weren’t much else to visit at that time we had to make do with homemade! So glad to hear your brewery is thriving down there. Whenever the time comes to revisit The Falklands I will endevour to visit and sample your brews. Best of luck and best wishes to all on the island. Gary

Thanks for your kind words, I always appreciate people that understand real ales and I try to keep my process as simple and traditional as I can. In the beers you have been drinking, I can confrim that it is just the raw ingredients without any additives to clear the yeast. The complete process is entirly natural. Malted barley, wheat, water, hops and yeast.
Ok the only way to get a pacel to the UK would be to use DHL. This is expencive, a case of 12 would weight 10Kg but i do not know what that would cost to send.
